I hit 16k much to my surprise a few days ago, and I had this idea in my head to do, but hadn't committed. But, due to overwhelming interest in it, I will do my best to populate this rich and beautiful world with the scum and fanboys of RT. A few ground rules before we start;

• Regulars in the Avatar threads will be cast for sure. You don't even need to ask.
• I have most of the choices made already, but do have some wild card spots open to cast to interested parties. Please don't spam "Can I be cast?" every other comment, because the answer will always be "Shut up."
• I will do the castings in order of the Book they first appear in; with the exception of main characters, who will be done throughout and closer to the end.
• I will make the best attempt at keeping the entries spoiler-free, but if you're just starting watching or behind where I'm casting, expect minor spoilers. Same goes for people posting here, keep spoilers behind tags if you must.
• Feel free to share your favorite quotes, videos, and character moments as we wind down the road that is Avatar: The Last Airbender

I wanted to start this party with a bang, and what better way then to cast our resident lightning rod? Zhao and Ape both are smart and well-groomed on the positive side (those sideburns are wicked). However, both are also ruthless, cunning assholes who don't really care if someone gets hurt in the pursuit of their own ends. The ends always justify the means for these guys.

I.Y. as Monk Gyatso

Although new to RT, I.Y. has proven himself to be a brilliant mind that can analyze things to their core, yet still be light-hearted and humorous enough to, say, airbend some cakes onto a fellow monk's head. With both wit and intellect, I.Y. would clearly be right at home as an elder monk at one of the Air Temples.

Alex Weitzman as Bumi

Alex, like Bumi, is a bit of an eccentric. And by eccentric, I mean awesome mad genius that has power over people's existences (in a fashion). While Bumi is King of Omashu and a Master Earthbender, Alex is a well-known RT mod that is more than willing to toy with people before slamming them in the face with a giant rock wall (just ask FETT). Don't tell Alex his jokes are bad like Bumi's too, I don't want him to encase me in edible rock candy.
