You know, they can write off Owen and Margaret from the show without having to kill them off.
It would be a bold move if they do (and after Season 2, I really wouldn't put it past this show to do something like that again), but maybe it's the part of me that's rooting for both characters to survive this and get away that thinks they will survive. I really don't see how we can get another season with Margaret being stuck with Nucky. They barely share much screen time this season, so I'm almost sure that however it happens (whether she gets killed or run off with Owen), I don't think Kelly MacDonald and Charlie Cox will be signing any contracts for a fourth season. |

Even still, if the latter will be the case, I don't see why Richard would need Nucky's help in that department. The dude has killed sixty-four people, so shooting Gillian (who is an awful person) wouldn't be quite the moral dilemma for Richard. Especially with little Tommy's upbringing put in question. |

Buscemi was outstanding in this episode. The bathroom scene with MacDonald was quite powerful.
Hopefully this whole "Nucky vs. Everyone Who Left that Room" will bring much needed focus and attention to the lead character now that he's starting to struggle to keep his power. "Business with you is more trouble than it's worth." Even if Nucky champions over this whole Rosetti mess, this episode practically just ended his business relationships with Rothstein et al. Maybe his new political friend can help, but up to what extent I'm not sure. |

That was fantastic. That ending.. ugh. First time I've teared up from this show. She hasn't really had any moments to shine since season one, but Kelly Macdonald really sold that scene.

That was too much awesome in one episode. I can't even pick a highlight because I loved every scene. Ok, maybe the Stephen Root hit job scene. That was hilarious

I want Nucky to die this season. Give however many remaining seasons they have to the rise of Capone, Luciano and Lansky. That being said, the last two episodes have been great.

I kinda knew Owen was gonna bit it. The formula seems to be if any character has any chance of happiness or there's a light at the end of the tunnel, they're going to bite it.
Also, you kinda knew that henchmen of Gyp's that kept talking about rogue waves was going to be a goner. You don't try to one up Gyp.

They did play with that expectation a little bit with Owen saying he'll marry whatsherface so we're not quite sure if he's telling the truth to either of them. After Margaret leaves Nucky, he'll just leave her to twist in the wind, poor and alone. Which would be an appropriately dark end. And it's entirely possible he would have done that.

Also, you kind of did see Owen going (especially after Lucky was whispering info into the guys ear) and his speech with Margaret, but damn it still managed to surprise and affect me. I didn't realize how much I liked the character until then. This show has become almost as brutal to its characters as the Song of Ice and Fire series. The only thing is I hope that the show ends up twisting history a bit, because otherwise it does become predictable as to who is going to die (or has the potential to die) for those of us that do know the history of things. However, did I miss how Lucky knew about Nucky's assassination plans?

I'm going to guess the Fed told them. I don't think we saw if he was dead or not along with Owen.
Or it might've been luck. Luciano was at Nucky's call to arms, and maybe that's all he told Masseria was about, and the attempt on Masseria was just very poorly timed and he increased his security in general. I see Gyp's number 2 more selling Gyp out than just flat out doing the deed. Maybe he will kill him but I bet he'll be backed up by either Nucky or Masseria when he realizes having a cartoon character like Gyp around is a bad idea. Fuck you BE! He was my fav charater along with Billie who you killed off last week you fuckers!! I was lost on the Richard side line - but now, hell, I hope he lives through everything and goes onto a happy life - but I doubt that.
Have a weird feeling Jimmy's slut mum is going to kill Richard's new lovely delightful girlfriend.

If it's the FBI informant, the guy has been pretty clearly open about his being for sale, and the attack going down might've been something he let Lucky and company know, and that might be what was whispered. Last edited by Sinizine; 11-19-2012 at 07:16 AM. |

Also, why have them whisper that in his ear? Why hide it from the audience when it's information that the audience already knows Lucky knows? It makes more sense that he tells him about the when/where of the hit in secret so that we as an audience (who are probably thinking what you are stating here)aren't expecting Owen's demise. Also, why would Masseria enter such a huge deal for information as simple as "I was there when Nucky tried to get help to take you out and everyone refused to help him?" They just essentially told him this, minus the last part, before the whispering. If it's what you say it doesn't add up, and it's a blunder by otherwise stellar writers. However, it IS possible the FBI agent went to Lucky or is on Lucky's payroll, and that's how the information got to Masseria. But having Masseria directly contacted by him, or Lucky just giving him such general, redundant information doesn't make sense in the context of the scene and what went down.

Also, I'm guessing this means Masseria is now out to get Nucky as well, or at least is going to back Gyp.
Nucky's got himself in quite the corner at the moment, and it looks like his only friend left is Omar.

Yeah it's pretty obvious that what was whispered to Masseria were the plans to take him out in the baths. Who informed Lucky is the real question.

Yea, he's going to owe him big time. But there is reason for him to help Nucky, which is probably the purpose of that scene last night. He's going to demand a King's ransom, on top of the club.
On the bright side, it might mean we get more of Chalky next season.

Decent episode. I personally didn't feel much for Owen checking out. There's plenty of allegiances being crossed or being foreshadowed to be crossed.

It looks where they're headed next is:
Gyp shows up in Atlantic City next week. Nucky has to hide out with Chalky. Nucky is going to offer Rothstein something big for helping him. Chalky, Torrio/Capone, and Rothstein should be on Nucky's side for the final showdown in 2 weeks. As for Harrow...he's going to get kicked out of the whorehouse when Gyp takes it over. He's going to return for "unfinished business" as the preview says - which leads me to believe he's going to kidnap Gillian's grandson to get him out of there. I think we've seen all of the bad-ass Harrow we're going to see. I think he's transitioning and trying to get out of that line of work. The only thing left for him is to be killed tragically, which we ALL know it coming. |

Someone mentioned Gillian offing Harrow's girl, and sending him down a dark path - that seems more likely to me.

I'd wager Gillian is likely to be sold out or killed by Richard. Richard wants his little pseudo family, which if he just killed her outright he would never have. So instead he sells her out to Nucky that Gyp visited her right before the explosion, and then Nucky either kills her or coerces her to try and get another meeting with Gyp.
