The shows I put there were based mostly on what is being talked about the most right now. To do a best show of all time list would be a very large list of nominations.

Lol at The Wire beating BB. Season 2 blew, Season 5 was a big step down from 4 and 3, 1 was also a pretty slow starter.

Breaking Bad easily for the win.

I can only assume the two Walking Dead votes were from people who hadn't seen any of the other series...right?

I think Mad Men is both the most formally and literarily ambitious television series that I've ever seen, and I say so as a person who has seen both The Wire and Breaking Bad.

Neon Genesis Evangelion and Paranoia Agent deserve nods as shows from across the pond. The other pond. The pacific one, I mean.

Seems to me like somebody did do one last year. It's kind of pointless though, because most of the people on this board are under 30.

Mad Man was pretty much the best show on television the first four season. Lately Breaking Bad and Homeland may have pulled ahead of it. For a series overall it's between Mad Men and The Wire. If I'm picking the best show right now, probably Breaking Bad, which really just gets better and better.

You feel season 5 of Mad Men was a step down in quality, because I really couldn't disagree more.

The Shield is my favorite TV show, so that. But just for the sake of it, I'll entertain the OT and rank the ones here...

The Wire
Breaking Bad
Homeland
24
Walking Dead

I still haven't seen The Sopranos, Mad Men, or Twin Peaks.

I don't know whether to express disappointment in you or jealousy over the marvelous television ahead in your future.

None of them old ass, rickety ass, wrinkled ass shows got anything on modern television. Tv is nothing like cinema, so many foundational evolutionary leaps have been made in Tv. Cinema not so much.

I've still got The Wire to watch yet

I've been losing interest in MadMen for a while now.
I'm all about Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones.

This isn't people getting upset over the excessive adulation of, say, the Nolan Batman films. Or James Cameron box office jealousy. This is calling a spade a spade. Sadly. I say this as a card-carrying LOST fanboy for much of its early run and I watched every episode in its entirety. The show has one of, if not the best first season of any show (*dodges The Wire fanboys*) and established an incredible mythos, great characters, fantastic premise, and almost inconceivable potential for greatness. We were strung along for so long and it. was. all. complete. nonsense.

No backlash. It's bad.
