Anderson Cooper's defense of Beyonce on his show last night was a bit much.

I don't know how serious this is, but Hipster Thor ain't passing. You might be feminine for a guy, but most girls don't have jaws that long and noses like that. I strongly advise against it. You'd have to go through a LOT of surgery that may have complications before you can look like a girl. Hormones won't cut it, and you'll end up fitting in even less by trying.
If you're a feminine guy, and you can't find your place there, that does NOT mean you'll make for a good women. Some people are neither as masculine as the average guy nor feminine enough to pass for a woman. You just got to be happy with your non-conformist self. Being happy with what you have is the best way to get people to take yourself seriously. Confidence is the key to that. Seriously, as soon as I owned up to being a gypsie retard, people stopped bothering because it was like bullying a brick wall. Be a kinda girly dude and get on with things. Unless you want to be a girl for yourself, but in which case, you wouldn't worry about passing...

so Thor...why hook up with trans?
Is it because you feel that other women won't accept you? that, as a trans, they may understand what you're going through? Or do you want penis, but would rather it be attached to someone pretty?

Thor is gay. Not in a homosexual way, he's just gay.
It sure was.

What was his defense? I honestly don't see the appeal of Beyonce to tell you the truth. She has a couple of good tracks at best, she's kinda pretty, and a total moron. Although Wendy Williams is nuts, I'm with her that Beyonce is dumb, have you ever heard her in interviews?

I think at this point the only thing Thor really goes by is what people tell him. I mean, if you look at some transgendered people, they do not "pass" they do not look like "normal" men or women, but they transition because it's something they feel like that have to do. If you're truly transgendered and you feel like you were born in the wrong body, I don't think you'd be posting pics on-line trying to get internet strangers to give you the Seal of Approval to see if you want to transition or not.

Yea like we have all been some mild form of "there" but we may have had different levels of coping skills. I remember for the longest time not thinking I was attractive to men being one of the youngest in my class and a slow developer having acne and such. Wasn't a fun time in my life I'll tell ya.

Thor, I don't know much about your situation, so this might be no help at all, but...
I don't like sports, hunting, fishing, Nascar, Budweiser, bar fights, one night stands, and loud, aggressive alpha male types. Living in the midwest, it was odd to not be into any of that typical "manly" stuff. But I'm perfectly happy with who I am. In other words, do what you do, like what you like, and try not to worry quite so much.

I had a post that disamodpprovalled, but again it's just my advice, but I would strongly advise against transitioning (saying this might backfire tho). It will only compound your problems if you're worried about passing or fitting in.
In short: you should only be a girl if you feel like a girl, not because you feel like a shitty guy. You need a deep feeling that you should be a girl, not that you're too effeminate to be a "regular" guy. Setting your watch to other people's gender norms means the nightmare has only just begun with transitioning. Really? That nose and jaw won't be working in his favor. It's a problem when people occupy that zone of having both effeminate and masculine features, because they really won't fit in anywhere, and the harder they try, the harder it gets for them. The answer for these people is a harsh suck it up and live with what you are. If your criteria for being happy is other people's approval, then transitioning won't help you at all. Only changing your criteria will.

Now I'm interested in seeing the movie adaptation of Watchmen. Is the Director's Cut the best choice or should I stick with the Theatrical Cut?

Oh, I thought you meant the movie. I've only seen the movie, I don't read.

Yes, but I thought you meant you were almost finished the movie. Anyways, I enjoyed the movie. From what I can tell, it's an exact remake of the novel, except for the ending, so I'm not sure how people didn't like it.

I read that the Director's Cut is over 3 hours long, but is also pretty faithful to the novel, even including the pirate stuff, which kind of surprised me to hear.

I don't believe the Director's Cut has the pirate stuff, but the Ultimate Cut does, which is the one I own. I could do without the pirate stuff, it's all animated anyways.

So, are there 3 versions of the movie or is the Director's Cut the Ultimate Cut? Edit: Just looked it up. The Blu-Ray of the UC is like $140 on Amazon. Last edited by InsultCake; 01-23-2013 at 08:12 AM. |

Theatrical- don't bother
Director's- see this one Ultimate- takes the Director's and adds the animated pirate comic stuff. Skip it unless you are a big fan. I think the Watchmen movie is pretty damn good. Worth seeing if you are a fan of the comic. Though I went into the movie having never read a comic in my laugh and I still liked the movie the first time. The entire movie might not be perfect, but there are certain scenes that just nail the look and feel of the graphic novel.

The Ultimate Cut apparently only adds an optional animated film called Black Freighter.
The theatrical cut is said to be confusing and incomplete, so go with the Director's. |

I may just order the Blu-Ray of the DC, then. It's only $10.
