It was uh resolved.
Having said that I feel we got cheated out of 2 plus good episodes with Jude.
What about the corrupted Angel of Death storyline?
I'm not satisfied with Lana Banana writing about Santa Claus story for fame? What why? That makes no sense to me. What happened to Pepper?

I'm not mad and I know its not a mystery show. Is horror. This show likes to end on a positive note which I appreciate since its a harrowing gruesome show to watch. But I feel like we go set up to see some new developments which we are left in the dark about. I guess we know what happened to the key players.

I don't think the angel of death was corrupted. Are you referring to when she appeared as an inmate? I interpreted that as Jude hallucinating the asylum's alpha-female as death incarnate. I don't think the angel herself was corrupt.

So what's the general consensus on this season? Better than season 1?

Personally, I think it was but I've heard some complaints around the internet.

also, i loved the way kit and jude's relationship progressed. i felt like the writers were trying to show that they were kindred souls that somehow transcended season 1 and 2.

I think some people are saying it was supposed to suggest that Lana's story was made up or something, but I think it was just to bring the story full circle that Lana would suffer for her ambition.

I definitely liked it a lot better than season 1. There was way more quantity and consistency of tension throughout season 2. I am definitely on-board for the next season, though I am worried that they are going to pick a stupid "phantom of the broadway" or Black Dahlia/haunted hollywood hotel milieu, and that will be an instant turn-off for me. Not enough to be a deal-breaker, but they will have to work uphill to get me on-board.

I was hoping for a big twist in the ending. That said, it did make great sense in the plot and with the characters (badass Lana).

I agree that resolution happened episodes ago. Very unlike the first season.

As for whether it was better than season 1, I think no. They were both about equally good, they just treaded different water. Season 1 was shock and awe. Season 2 was suspense. Great show regardless of what type of impact it makes.

Hmmmm. Yeah I was interpreting it that way because she kissed 'Satan'(Sister Mary Eunice) as she was dying so like the spirit was looking for a host and took the angel of death. Who then I figured manifested as this inmate with gang in tow. I recall there was some threat/promise of this happening.

If it is a hallucination then its probably better. There are implications in the real world if death takes a holiday. There was a lot that didn't make sense to me in the last two episodes regarding the events and motivations of the characters. I have to let it lie. I give great props to the first eleven episodes. I could take or leave the last two.

Aside from what we are calling the epilog I liked Asylum much more than the first season. The acting was amazing. The first season seemed to get increasingly silly. But it had more of a unified story. I try to think of both series as being a story someone might tell with a flashlight under their chin. I don't know how much I care about the bigger story arc so much as Oh here is another story about Bloodyface. Or tell me something else Sister Mary Eunice did or the Nazi doctor. I think these characters were more interesting for a horror story than some of the previous owners of the house. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

This was one of the most brilliant seasons of TV I've seen, and I'm not a big fan of the first season. It still had a bit of a "we're making this up on the fly" feeling, but it wasn't full of giant holes like last year.

I wouldn't call it particularly scary, but Asylum was full of beautiful imagery, solid acting and some emotional gut punches.

I'm hoping for a sci-fi setting next, or maybe something in Medieval times.

Yeah, there were so many beautifully shots scenes. The production level of the show is fantastic. Loved the opening before the credits of the finale- just wonderful imagery and camera angles.

Also the first time I've been thoroughly impressed with Dylan McDermot. Great role for him.

It's still got to be an American Horror Story, so I'm not sure they can do a Medieval period. Maybe a Salem witch trial setting?

Oh right, didn't think of that...but good idea on the Salem thing. I can picture Jessica Lange as the accused witch.

Jessica Lange would make an amazing witch.

I'd be interested in seeing a season set in a swampy region of Louisiana during the 20's. A bit of Gatsby, the occult, the undead, voodoo magic, lots of alligators, the KKK, etc.

True Blood uses up all that oxygen.

Yeah, he was terrific! Evil and tragic at the same time.

Also, like the Salem setting. And agree that the show's runners are capable of producing a great season out of any setting. Hell, they succesfully included freaking aliens this season. If they included Bigfoot next, I wouldn't say it was ludicrous outright, since they might be able to write it well.

I was an enthusiastic fan of The Practice for 4.5 of its six seasons. So I've liked Dylan McDermott for a long time. He was fine in this but I don't think his Bruce Wayne character was necessary.

Me too, loved him on The Practice. Also agreed on the final season suckage. Which is weird, because I also like James Spader yet he destroyed everyhing. Not to strawman you into thinking Spader's character was a reason for suck, but I at least thought it/he was. That character could've been fine as another ensemble character, but the writers for some reason focused every episode on him.

Quote:

Didn't get any Bruce Wayne sense from that character. And he was "necessary" as much as Pinhead or Anne Frank were--he was there as a compelling plot device. And worked (imo).

This season is super pervy. You've got alien probing, strait jackets, exorcisms, electro-shock therapy, a nymphomaniac psych ward inmate, bare-bottom spankings administered by a stern, sexually repressed nun who wears a red negligee under her habit, a virginal nun lifting up her skirts and begging to be caned, a mad scientist strapping people down and experimenting on them.

It's pretty much a checklist of kinky fetish material, and I'm only on the second episode! Yeah, I'm gonna keep watching.

Me too. Even if not in his former AHS life, I'd love to see him in general. Very good actor.

Kathy Bates?! X3 awesome.

Saw season one. Amazing. Can't wait for stupid Netflix to go ahead and stream S2. Anyone know when this is happening?

Looks like it's gonna be Witches.

If all the women who have been on the show are witches plus Kathy Bates this is going to be one awesome group of baddies.

Hell yeah.

Grrl power, hopefully, instead of "girls put in bags with badgers and dumped in rivers".

If the themes are kept up, it'll be interesting to see what the current state of the descendants of (or still living?) witches will be in modern times. 350 years seems a long time to maintain some sense of individual/antagonistic consequence, and/or hidden witchery.
