He really, really is. I didn't even recognize him at all. He's the one who recognized me. He had to tell me his name, and when he did, I was like... mind. blown. He was nerdish in middle school. Damn, that's like fantasy turned into reality.

I tried grindr a few weeks ago and I've still got it on my phone but I haven't been on it since. It was kinda "meh" and then when a particularly unattractive coworker messaged me on there that was that.

i know, i feel like this is the plot from some highly unrealistic romantic comedy. and yet here it is, really happening in my life. not only am i talking to my best friend from middle school after not seeing him for 10 years, but it also turns out he's gay, which has caught me greatly by surprise in and of itself, and also very cute

it's so true. i've had so many boy-related disappointments, and more particularly, grindr-related disappointments. i've been actively trying not to get my hopes up about anyone, but he has completely destroyed that and now i'm already playing images in my head of going on a date, holding hands and then having soft, slow kisses afterwards. this isn't good for my emotional health

It's easy to let your imagination get carried away (especially in this unusual scenario) so don't beat yourself up over it. But for now you're just reconnecting with an old friend so try not to feed into those visions of a romantic relationship. Let things naturally develop.
