What Are the Best Xbox 360 Games?

I got a system not too long ago for X-mas and wanted to play Rock Band and we do that every so often. So we have a lot of those games and it's great but what about other games? I haven't been impressed so far. I like the regular xbox games better and wonder now why I upgraded. I have:

Darksiders
Ghostbusters
Resident Evil 5 (I hate the freaking partner BS you have to deal with, ugh, its sucks b/c I don't have someone to play with)
Fable II and III (3 is garbage, the menu sucks, the gameplay sucks, the game is horrible and the first Fable is one of my favs of all time)
Mortal Kombat V. DC

I love RPGs and action games, what should I check out? Call of Duty? Stuff like that?

Bayonetta as far as action games are concerned. It is my favorite game of the generation.

Call of Duty. The multiplayer is a lot of fun. I liked Black Ops the best.

If RPGs and action games are your cup of tea, you might get a kick out of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The edges are notably rough, but it's a unique experience and a clear labor of love.

arkham city takes a while to grab hold of you, but it gets better (I felt the same way as you after the first little while, dropped it for months).

Iunno if you don't have the orange box for pc you can get it on 360.

My advice, return it and get a playstation 3 if you don't already have one.

and yeah, deus ex HR, Fallout series, skyrim, bioshock 1, mass effect series are all good as far as mainstream games go, but again, for the most part they are multi-platform.

Borderlands
Left 4 Dead games
Mass Effect games
Fight Night
Head Shot 2
Limbo
Split Second

And I think the Walking Dead serial game (it's released in chapters) is a lot of fun, and better acted than the show.

Cool, guys. I've heard the Mass Effect and Arkham Asylum games are great. And Red Dead Redeption has pretty good reviews. Thanks.

If you find it cheap, which you probably will, check out Deadly Premonition. It's hilariously memorable and is probably the best example of So Bad It's Good in video gaming. Just make sure to look up how to get the flamethrower early in the game, this will keep the more obnoxious combat portions from taking too long.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Nazi Zombies. You'll thank me later.

The first couple of Assassin's Creed games are fun, but I thought the series fell off with the end of 2.

Gears of War 1-2 are fun as well, especially if you play the campaign with someone.

Bioshock Bioshock Bioshock. One of my favorite games ever.

Also:

Mass Effect trilogy
Red Dead Redemption
Borderlands
Fallout 3
Fallout: New Vegas
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Batman: Arkham City
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2

I'll also recommend The Orange box as a great starter kit for XBox. It has Half-Life 2, Team Fortress 2 (strictly a multiplayer game) and Portal.

Portal and Portal 2 are phenomenal games.

I forgot about Bioshock.

Both Bioshock games are pretty amazing. I seem to be in the minority of really liking the second one.

2 is fun but it's just a rehash of the first one, and a lot harder. So that spark of awe is just gone. But it's still a solid play.

I think it's less scary, since you're a Big Daddy so you feel less vulnerable, which kind of takes a bit out of it.

But I do like that the second game sort of elevated the series to being about dueling philosophies.

Red Faction Guerrilla. Sadly the amazing MP is dead but the single player is a great time. What makes RFG special is its destructible environments. No other game comes even close and we can only hope that one day other games will attempt what RFG does with environmental destruction.

Say what! That was like the best moment of the whole game. So haunting.

Yeah maybe you should have played it for more than an hour. It's geared more towards being an open world game than AA so it takes a little longer to get going.
