I'm curious to know if Aronofsky tells the "true story" of what happened. Meaning, this isn't some uplifting story about survival and instead, shows the wrath of God murdering innocent people. I want it to play out like Katrina where families are trapped on rooftops as the water continues to rise. I want to see a child slip off the roof and drown.

If this is all fluff then **** this ****ing movie. Obviously any semi-intelligent person knows none of this **** actually happened, but if you're going to tell a bull**** story at least say what would have REALLY happened.

Also, i can't wait to see how he wrangles up millions of animals across dozens of continents and islands. lol.

You know, people tend to focus on the people and the animals and the ark itself and 'what aboot teh science?!' but there is actually something more bizarre about the account that no one seems to notice; and that is the author's complete obsession with day-month timing. He keeps going out of his way to actual construct a day-month timeline on which the events are taking place- "this day of that month, this happened; then this day of that month, that happened; this many days later on this day of the other month this then happened" there's even one point where the author writes, "and on this day of that month the tops of the mountains were seen"

What possible purpose could this serve? Why would this author possibly think anyone in the future would ever need to know exactly on what days of what months these completely fantastic events allegedly took place? I mean, this is a guy who is thinking to himself, "I just have just got to send specific timing information to the future concerning events in the past- right down to the very day and month that the tops of the mountains were seen!" What a completely timing-obsessed author. Were any of the other flood myth authors this obsessed with timing? I don't know but this 'Noe' person was obviously obsessed with timing. IT BEGAN ON THE 17TH DAY OF THE 2ND MONTH! wtf? Okay, "Noe", we get it, you're completely obsessed with timing even the most arbitrary of things- does this somehow matter?

Anyway, I was looking at this earlier this last month and it looks to be heavily based on the Enochian literature so it should contain even more unbelievable things than big boats and huddled masses. Would like to see the script

Wtf are you talking about?

The story itself is a parable about what happens to people who don't listen to God. Noah said, "God told me 'It's gon rain.' So I'm making a boat."

No one trusted him so they all perished. That's the whole point of the story, and it's a recurring theme in the bible.

Do you seriously think the guy's just gonna paint the movie to look like the wall of a nursery or something?

EDIT TO ADD: In the context of the story, the people were not considered "innocent" either. That was the whole reason God flooded the earth to begin with. He considered them wicked and gave all of them a chance to follow him and prove themselves but no one did.

Oh look....a typical Christian is rationalizing mass murder because if you don't say it's OK for God to wipe out every man, woman, and child - then you won't get to punch your ticket to heaven (which doesn't exist, by the way).

You are a despicable human being. Did you know that? Here's an analogy for you...this sums up what it is to be a Christian..

Imagine it's the morning of 9/11 and a plane crashes into the building where you're working. You're on the bottom floor so you evacuate easily. Hours later the building collapses, killing everyone inside. Rather than being sad, you are happy because now you get a paid vacation. That's what it's like to be Christian. It doesn't matter what kind of horrors befall others as long as it's paradise for you in the end.

You say Noah warned people. You're telling me he traveled to every corner of the globe and warned everyone? That's what you're telling me? LOL. You're telling me children who are too young to even SPEAK deserved to die a horrible drowning death because they weren't old enough to believe in absolute bull****?

I end this with reiterating: You are a horrible wretch of a human being.

Atheist, agnostic, Jewish... but still, even most of the Christians aren't a bunch of bible-thumping wackos.

A masterpiece of a post. Please post more. I want to read more of your thoughts on the bible and your wonderful allegory of Katrina. Please, enlighten the rest of us. Can you find something in the bible that relates us to the tsunami in Japan? That would just be terrific.

Well.. that whole "Christians are trying to force their beliefs on everyone".. "Christians are too pushy"..thing that peeps complain about. uhhhh...well... maybe you haven't experienced that first hand? If anything Christians often seem to be the complete opposite of what you are suggesting.

Wait.. why am I debating such an idiotic post

While he is tending to blur all Christians into a Westboro stereotype, there is some credence to his claims and much support of his distaste in their holy texts.

My primary issue is how most Christians are mostly "good" people, but subscribe to a belief system they are rather ignorant in and are unaware of the unsavory bigotry/hatred inherent in their religion and are therefore, passive supporters.

Leviticus is one of the most hideous things ever written. And one of the most stupid.

He's still acting like a child.

Didn't Noah get raped by his daughters afterwards?

I wonder if that'll be included.

Here's Russell Crowe from the upcoming film:

I was hoping for something more like this:
