Pitch Perfect is one of the best films of the year

I understand if most people will be turned off because it looks like Glee in a college setting, but apart from the fact that they are about singing groups that cover popular songs, they are not alike. Unlike Glee, Pitch Perfect is actually about the competition, both between the groups and between the members of the group. Also, there is none Glee's cloying drama, and the one love story it has does serve the narrative well. And the music is great and is not over processed, and other than the use of "Titanium" it feels as if they actually picked the songs for narrative purposes and not to sell albums.

Actually, I'd say it is more Mean Girls with music than Glee.

And Rebel Wilson's Fat Amy may very well be the greatest character of the year.

I want to see it. I read an interview with Wilson in the paper today, I like the cut of her jib.

Ya know, I saw the commercial and said to myself, "this is just the kinda film I will see, no matter how terrible it is." I have a feeling it will end being like Easy A or Bandslam, a movie that looks terrible but is actually pretty great.

Glad to hear this.

I've been expecting it for months now. I don't care about the clichés, as long as the movie is good.
