First Django Unchained reactions...

...are not surprisingly wildly enthustiac. The movie is 160 minutes and there is split praise between Jackson, DiCaprio and Waltz. As usual expect a hyper-violent, explosively funny and very talky QT film. It's also supposed to be tremendously entertaining and crowd pleasing and several critics don't see much Oscar potential beyond a few acting noms. As of now critics are not allowed to put up reviews as per Tarantino's request.

With my enthusiasm for The Hobbit dying and with being bitterly disappointed by Prometheus, I really hope this movie doesn't let me down.

i wasnt really worried that this would be a stinker, despite QT's thoughts that he's getting worse.

I think it looks incredible.

Excluding Death Proof, I really love the direction QT's heading in.

Are you talking about the reaction on Twitter? The Hobbit had the same response.

I would really love it if DiCaprio won Supporting Actor for this. It's crazy to me that he doesn't have an Oscar yet.

Both the night for Reservoir Dogs and the night for Pulp Fiction I have class late, so I missed out unfortunately. I would really have loved to see them on the big screen.

My friend told me about it but we didn't end up going. It's OK though, I saw a double feature once at the New Beverly Cinema of Reservoir Dogs and The Killer.

Academy and critic screenings for Django start today. I'm desperately looking for anything in my town.

It was pretty cool. They did this little retrospective beforehand (which I imagine is part of the special features on the box set) with interviews with some of the lesser-known people who were involved with getting the film made. There were also trailers for Harvey Keitel movies hand picked by Tarantino - The Duellists, Mean Streets, and Mother, Jugs, and Speed. And they showed the trailers for Tarantino's other movies before the showtime.

And, of course, the movie. It was so cool to see it on the big screen. It really took a lot out of me, though. I always forget how sad it makes me.

They're doing Pulp Fiction tomorrow night. I wish I could go, but I can't afford another 12.50 movie ticket this week. Plus, tomorrow is the last night that Wuthering Heights is playing here, and I really want to see that.

I'm a little more excited to see the film after I heard a QT with Howard Stern today. Avoiding the awful trailer is imperative.

I just hope it's a fun to watch QT movie. I could care less about Oscar nominations. I think it's a given Speilberg's Lincoln is going to be the heavy favorite anyway.

I'm not going to see Django Unchained, I'm going to see a Quentin Tarantino movie that is also a western. It couldn't be anything else but great.

Those Tweets were jizzing all over my screen, not sure why this thread has an air of desperation to it. This should be what all film lovers go and see this year. Can't wait. <3

It's crazy to me that people actually like him. But I am curious to see how Tarantino uses him. I don't hate Leo per se, just the fact that Hollywood desperately wants me to buy his act as angst ridden tough guy who likes to stare off with a confused and feminine scowl.

His first movie since losing Sally Menke. I wonder how that'll affect it.

Do you have links to any of this? ^

How is Tarantino JUST joining the DGA? I thought you couldn't even release a movie or be credited as director, isn't that what happened with George Lucas and Return Of the Jedi and scores of other movies with union director problems?

2012 has been an absolutely miserable year at the movies.

It's at the end of the Leno interview. Don Johnson and Christoph Waltz sharing a few words. Good stuff.

That doesn't mean much. Are the reactions generally enthusiastic? How many reactions so far? From whom?

Er, as opposed to a QT film without those traits?

So an enjoyable experience but not Oscar-worthy. Doesn't that describe perhaps 50% of the films that are made?

Just the sneaky, non-review reviews that you're apparently referencing.

I couldn't disagree with this more. It's crazy to me that people DON'T like him. He's a fantastic actor with a ridiculous resume.

Foxx...

Hi evreyone,I'm new on RT forums, and I don't know was there any discutions about casting of Jamie Foxx as starter in Django?I believe in Tarantino,he rarely mistakes in castings, but I honestly think he could have done this thing better. There are waaaaay more talented actors for his role,he's a bit overrated,at least my opinion

You should have put them in there in the first place, you lazy son of a gun. You started the damn thing. You're like the people on Hoarders who sit back and drink a beer while everyone else is there cleaning their house up.

I've been sober from alcohol for 15 years. I don't drink beer. But I do know how to use a search function instead of asking people for links. That's just as lazy.
