10. Kids (Rapist Justin Pierce, Rape Victim Chloe Sevigny) -The irony in this scene is amazing, there’s some sweet poetic justice in it when the rapist ends up raping Sevigny at the end of the film while she’s passed out. Meanwhile she just discovered that she had AIDS that day. 9. Straw Dogs (Rapist Peter Vaughn, Del Henney, Rape Victim Susan George) -If you can call Susan George’s rape a real rape then that’s your interpretation. I think it’s a confusing scene to watch, when one of her friends starts to screw her on the couch. She doesn’t like it at first but soon gives in. I think in her sick and twisted head she wanted to feel violated and so she welcomed the rape. 8. Boys Don’t Cry (Rapists Peter Sarsgaard, Brendan Sexton Rape Victim Hilary Swank) -Both Swank and Sevigny ironically have been on the receiving end of a brutal rape, while Sevigny wasn’t conscious at the time of her rape, Swank very much was. This is a horrifying rape scene, after the two guys find out Swank is a girl they punish her in an ultra violent way. 7. Irreversible (Rapist Jo Prestia, Rape Victim Monica Belluci) -Definatley a classic rape scene, taking over a ten minute unedited shot of a brutal rape of a woman in an underground tunnel. Ending with her face getting smashed into the pavement. The most shocking part is when two people walk by the rape in progress and don’t do anything about it. 6. Moulin Rouge (Rapist Richard Roxburgh, Rape Victim Nicole Kidman) -I bet many rapists wouldn’t even have the courage to talk to Nicole Kidman, let alone rape her. You don’t see any actual rape, it’s more implied. But it’s set to the brilliant cover of “Roxanne” done in a tango style, it’s a great one. 5. Evil Dead (Rapist A Tree, Rape Victim Some girl -Never go into the woods alone, especially with a serial rapist tree on the loose. Seeing a sexy girl getting penetrated by a tree branch can give us all nightmares. But not after laughing ourselves to sleep. 4. Leaving Las Vegas (Rapist 3 College Boys, Rape Victim, Elisabeth Shue) -This is a sad and depressing rape scene, not only does she get raped but after the rape people make jokes about how bad she looks and “unexpected deliveries” meaning getting it in the *** without knowing it. Probably one of the hardest rape scenes to watch since I was pretty attached to the character by the time she was raped. 3. A Clockwork Orange (Rapist Malcolm Mcdowell, Rape Victim some girls -This is a pretty funny rape scene, done to dancing, music and singing. Not sure if I was supposed to be laughing like a hyena but if I’m going to hell for it, I’m glad it’s for something this excellent. 2. The Bandit Queen (Rapist A Dozen guys, Rape Victim Seemas Biswas -A great Indian film with a truly startling rape scene, this girl gets gang raped over and over again for nearly 10 minutes inside a shed. It’s endless barbaric torture and a true test of how much an audience can take. 1. Deliverance (Rapist Three Mountain Men, Rape Victim Ned Beatty) -I think this really got the degradation and humiliation of rape perfect, Beatty couldn’t be more pathetic, his pants around his ankles, unable to escape and dragged down to the lowest form of personal humiliation we could imagine. I can never hear a pig squeal without hearing the pathetic moaning squel of Ned Beatty. Everytime I drive on a country road or see a run down red neck house I get terrifying flashbacks to Deliverance and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

In "I Spit on Your Grave" a group of rednecks all take turns on her. One rapes her, then they let her go. But 2 minutes later they jump out of the woods again, and another one rapes her, and then lets her go again. Then when she gets home, they jump out of her closet and the retard rapes her.
It was actually pretty funny.

By far the worst ever is the prison rape scene in "American Me"... I'd rather die than go to jail for even a few years. Crimminy.

You missed the granddaddy of them all. Malcolm MacDowell as Caligula rapes a young man and his wife at the wedding ceremony. Did you want that topped with a cherry?

By "disturbing" you mean "sexy" don't you?
you probably shouldn't be encouraging rape fantasies

I don't want to sound like a stick in the mud, 'cause I'm not, but is there really such a thing as a nondisturbing rape scene?

I'd like to see a thread that lists rape scenes that are NOT disturbing.

one of the most effective ones i've seen is the one in Select the black box below with your cursor to view the spoiler text
no surprise its also the one that shows the least- only a split second and then the effects afterward.

One not mentioned yet is Once Upon a Time in America; when De Niro rapes Tuesday Weld in the backseat of a car. I found that one particularly upsetting.

I agree with Monster. That was horrible. I actually haven't seen that many movies with rape scenes.

The Accused would definitely top my list. I saw the movie on cable, and nearly had to leave the room because I was sure I was going to be sick.
And Rob Roy, with Tim Roth raping Jessica Lange. Tim Roth was a complete and utter pig in that movie.

True story. I was watching Ingmar Bergman's The Virgin Spring when several people walked into my room to see my roommate and they decided to stay and watch the movie, which eventually included a 90-second rape scene that didn't show anything (it was 1960 after all). They commented on how terrible it was, and my I responded with, "eh, I've seen better rapes," and cited, among other examples, Straw Dogs and Irreversible.
I was never able to live it down. Last edited by Antoine; 06-21-2004 at 10:39 PM. |
