Might as well contribute and show some recentish stuff...

Quick 15 mins photoshop sketch-

This is supposed to be Death from The Sandman series by Neil Gaiman (which I've been reading lately).

Then here's a practice piece thats taking too long. The plan: design a character, with armor, and fully render it in photoshop. Here's my progress:

Color layout:

Where I'm at right now:

Taking a damn long time. I'm specifically not using photo reference by the way, just to test myself to see how well I know anatomy.

And one last thing:

This pic I worked on for a really long time, but decided not to finish it simply because there's just too many problems with it (mostly with perpsective). But I like it enough not to let it go completely to waste, so here it is. It's supposed to be a fanart for the game ICO, by the way.

That's all for now. Hope ya like.

If I had a scanner, I'd post some of my artwork, which mostly consists of portraits and superhero art, which often ends up looking like a portrait, kind of like Alex Ross. I tend to draw in a very realistic manner adding great amounts of detail, proabably some that isn't necessary. Particularly, I'm very good at adding depth and shading to the art. I haven't drawn much in the past few years. Maybe a couple of piece each year.

No formal training at all. In fact I got a C in my art class in middle school, because I was bored with drawing his little 3D designs. I was way past that stuff. One day I brought in one of my drawings and asked what grade he'd give for it and he said "A".

This is sort of a short series I did while in Japan. All of these were shot in Tokyo. I took endless amounts of pictures of all the bright lights and neon so I thought it would be interesting to focus on light that you can barely notice while walking around in such an intense atmosphere:

Here are some scans from a sketchbook just to keep this thread going...

Some hand studies...and a drawing of Ben Franklin for..some reason...

Sketch of Hellboy, drawing from one of the movie action figures...

Drawings of my interpretation of the Mothman, I thought about making a Mothman comic book and these were some ideas for the look of him, maybe I'll still do it someday...

Oh dear freudleinlibkin those are GOOD! Looking at that last Mothman sketch, I feel intimidated to draw. If only I could....

Damn, man!.... Totally saved... Somehow I knew the downtown scenery was in Japan even without reading your post... Dunno how, there's barely any Japanese writing to see... But man, I love how you did the angling of the buildings thing... Love it man, love it....

Here's some I did last March or so...

This is one of the earliest digital paintings I did when I started to learn it just the beginning of this year... It's Ibuki from SFIII....

This is supposed to be Dudley from SFIII, but I kinda messed up his head and the car... :P

This one's kinda crappy... But hey, it's practice:

eh something I did back in college in about 30 minutes lol. I wanted to be an artist for about a week. No language requirements sounded good to me, then I met other artist wannabes and that ended that.

I tried my hand at crayon still-life, using my 1/24 scale Maisto "Assembly Line" series Ferrari 430 Berlinetta model car as a subject.

It has kind of an Eric Chase Anderson* feel to it, so I'm not completely dissatisfied with it, but I draw cars much better in coloured pencil.

* Wes Anderson's illustrator brother, who drew the Criterion DVD artwork for his brother's films like Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (though not Bottle Rocket, since that never got a Criterion).

I haven't had a scanner hooked up in awhile, but I do have a few drawings on the internet. This is the only one I'm proud of.

It's a postcard I drew while sitting on the couch. I think I sent it to someone...

Heres a few examples of some of the art I like to do (I dont use color much) and its all traditional art/sketches.

(This one was too big to scan so I had to photograph it, and the flash brought out the white-out I had to use on his stomach. If you are actually looking at the drawing, you cant see that.)

I call this Oldest Tuna's Last Stand.
This thread got me thinking of posting some of my old stuff I haven't seen in years but I can't get to it because I am extracting data from a damaged DVD and it will be hours before I can stick one of my old art discs in. This is a few years old. I did it for a friend who wanted something for a t-shirt to represent his fishing boat, but he never used it.
If its size is messing up the page let me know.
