Hey! Do you love the RottenTomatoes generic avatars!

Do you just love those avatars RottenTomatoes provides free of charge, but feel like no one is taking you seriously because of them? You want to feel like you're a valued member of the forums, but you don't want to feel obligated to get rid of your sweet RottenTomatoes generic avatar. Hey, I hear ya, they rock! I mean, a walking cactus, a politician, mountains, Rasputin...classics, every last one of them. No one is going to argue that they aren't awesome....anyone who does is a communist. But...they are tiny and crummy looking and make you look like you don't want to put forth any effort into joining the community.

So here's where this thread comes in... here you'll find both-silly random graphics and high production values. I present, RottenTomatoes Generic Avatars: Special Editions!

Alien!

Ace in the Hole!

Shark Fin!

Cow Skull!

So now you have no excuse(marcus_smelly_carcus). Upgrade and where them with pride while keeping true to your generic roots. Stay tuned(if anyone actually gets a kick out of this) for more! Who knows...Bad Egg, Old Man, Banana...they might all be getting the Special Edition treatment!

Anyone have tips on saving transparent GIFs? As you can see, Cow Skull is a tarnished with some occasional white jaggies, any way to eliminate those completely?

I've got a few more started, but sorry, JtbV, Cactus Pete isn't in this next group. But I'll get to all of them

Fresh! Funny and Charmingly Inviting.

JRSly --
Whether you intended it or not,
your post starting this thread made me laugh as hard (or harder) than any I've read in quite awhile.
And yet very charmingly and sincerely inviting.

O.K., now... don't rush me... wait... wait...
I want the... yes -- the ----

Shark Fin!

-- But way, way bigger, and with blood in the water.
Maybe even an arm or a leg floating in the background.
You decide that part... I'm not sure.

Great Thread -- and Great Post starting it all off.

Thanks, I was hoping that if the idea was seen as completely silly, which it is, people could at least laugh at the silliness. Glad you enjoyed it. I can try to spruce up Shark Fin for ya with some gore and what not, but that's as big as we can get, 125x125.

Get one more up here before I head home...

Banana!

Thanks. Not too long, these first few at least didn't. Just a few minutes on each. I imagine Cactus Pete and Alien(2nd Version) might be a bit trickier.

Oh, yeah -- 125x125.
I got a little excited and plumb forgot.
(My frenzied imagination was wandering in dimensions like about 1000x1000.)

Still room for lots of blood in the water though, right?
And perhaps a small arm or a thin person's leg?

I tried that too but got the same results. I can't see how it's anything in my picture, I'm zoomed in using a bright background to check for any stray pizels before saving but finding no reason for the white splotches.

Damn, I was so close and then I ran into the same problem you did: clean until I saved it.

This is what I usually do (after clicking "Save for Web"):

EDIT: great idea, btw.
